Tok Timbu was the chief metalsmith in Volcaneum. He was "four mothers African," descended from a Yoruba king. Timbu had a wife and two sons, both sons a bit older than Will Denison.[2]

Dinotopia: A Land Apart from Time[]
Arthur and Will Denison met Timbu on their way to Waterfall City in 1863. He became impressed and convinced of their good intentions after Arthur had sketched diagrams of windmills and foundries from back home from memory. He told them of the difficulties in escaping Dinotopia[3] and reintroduced the two to Bix.[4]
