The Dragoncopter was an experimental aircraft designed and built by Arthur Denison. It was a steam-powered ornithopter[1] built to resemble a dragonfly. The engine also used kerosene in some capacity. The machine was primarily a glider; the engine was only capable of providing five minutes of powered flight.

The Dragoncopter had its first and last flight on the morning of March 12, 1867, piloted by Arthur's son, Will. After a few minutes of successful flight, the mechanism failed over Cloudbottom Gorge, forcing Will to ditch onto the back of Cirrus, his Skybax, who had flown close by in case anything went wrong. The Dragoncopter plunged into the waterfall and was lost.
