A plant similar to Arctium longevus but with none of its medicinal properties — its only use is as a cure for indigestion, which is an unknown malady on Dinotopia. Named by Professor Barnaby Culpepper, a dolphinback with digestive difficulties who introduced it to Dinotopia. It was later discovered by Olivia and Albert that A. culpepperus’s pollen was actually deadly to A. longevus, causing the latter plant to wilt and poison the soil around it. This led to an extensive campaign to exterminate A. culpepperus from Dinotopia, although Professor Culpepper was allowed to keep a small stock of the plant for his own use. A. culpepperus closely resembled A. longevus, but was smaller (two feet high) and had different-shaped leaves.
